I moved to Lakeway, TX in 1998 and remember wishing I could vote for Ron Paul. Today, I feel the same, except I live in Newport Beach, CA and wish I could vote for Thomas Massie. For people like us, we couldn't get too many Thomas Massies in Congress. Here's how we do it!
We develop and promote candidates for Congress who swear to vote the same way as Thomas Massie on all votes. Every district in the U.S. can run their own TM candidate. And every TM who gets elected becomes a force multiplier for the guy we all want representing us, Thomas Massie.
While this may sound crazy, it really isn't that different from what the Democrats already do. Dems don't campaign on a promise to vote as a block. But, effectively they have a guaranteed 200+ representatives who can be counted on to vote as their leadership directs.
Republicans are much more divided and voters cannot depend on their representatives to vote according to the principles they campaigned on. How many times have we been disappointed by RINOs? We'd like to get new blood into Congress. But, it's difficult to overcome the name recognition, established power bases, donor networks, and existing war chests of long-time representatives. And, we really don't have time to properly develop candidates who both represent our views and can immediately become effective campaigners and ultimately legislators.
Thomas Massie has established a record and network that we can take advantage of. A total unknown can run under his record. How many Americans would jump at the chance to vote for Thomas Massie over the same guy whom they've sent to Congress for the last ten terms?
